Instacart+ cancellation guide
How to Cancel an Instacart+ Membership
Cancelling Instacart+ is a short account-menu flow. Whether you get money back depends on the plan type and whether you used the benefits.
Quick answer
- Instacart says to start from the three horizontal lines in the upper left on the website, or the Account icon in the upper right in the app.
- Then: Your Instacart+ membership → Manage your membership → Cancel membership.
- Instacart states you can continue enjoying the benefits through the end of your billing period.
- A confirmation email is sent; Instacart says to check your spam folder if you cannot find it.
Before you cancel
- Check whether your plan is monthly or annual — the refund rule differs.
- If annual, check whether five calendar days have passed and whether you have placed any orders with the membership — both conditions matter.
- Instacart says the Instacart+ page shows when your membership expires.
- If you only want to avoid the next renewal, Instacart offers a reminder sent seven days before it renews.

Refund conditions
- Annual membership — when a refund applies
- Instacart states you may cancel within the first five calendar days of the paid membership and get the fee refunded, but only if you have not placed any orders using the membership. Both conditions must hold.
- Any other time
- If you cancel at any other time you do not get a refund, but Instacart states you keep the delivery fee benefit through the end of your billing period.
- Trial auto-enrolment
- Instacart states that at the end of a trial you are charged a membership fee if the membership auto-enrols into a paid plan; the details and cancellation live in your account.
How and when a refund lands can vary by region and payment method. Instacart points PayPal and Klarna users to its own separate payment article.
After you cancel
- Check for the confirmation email — Instacart says to look in spam if it is not there.
- Note the expiry date on the Instacart+ page — benefits run until then.
- To come back, Instacart says you can select Renew membership on the same page at any time.
