Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated

Short version: at the time of writing, QuitMySub earns nothing from any link on this site. This page exists so that the rules are public before the money is, not after.

Current status

We are not enrolled in any affiliate programme, and there is no affiliate link, tracking parameter, or commission arrangement anywhere on this site. Every outbound link goes to an official help page belonging to the service you are trying to cancel.

If that changes

We intend to earn money from comparison pages — the pages you might read after cancelling, when you are deciding what to use instead. If we join a programme, all of the following apply, and we will label the links clearly.

  • Any link that can earn us money is labelled where it appears, next to the link itself and not only at the bottom of the page.
  • We do not place commission links inside cancellation steps. The instructions you came for stay clean.
  • Links to a service's own cancellation help are never commission links.
  • Commission never changes a difficulty score, a ranking, or a recommendation. This is enforced in our code, not just promised — the module that calculates difficulty cannot read commission data at all.
  • A higher payout does not earn a better placement. If a cheaper or free option is the right answer, that is what the page says.
  • We only publish a commission link after the programme has approved us. We never put a placeholder link on a live page.

Why say this now

A site that tells people how to stop paying for things has one asset, and it is trust. Writing these rules down while we still earn nothing is the only time it costs us nothing to be strict.
