Headspace cancellation guide

How to Cancel a Headspace Subscription

Where you cancel Headspace depends entirely on who charged you. That is the first thing to establish.

Quick answer

  • Headspace states the cancellation steps differ depending on where you subscribed — directly, via the Apple App Store, or via Google Play.
  • For direct purchases, log in from a browser (not the app) and use the CANCEL MEMBERSHIP link on the subscription management page.
  • A Headspace + Spotify bundle is managed by Spotify, so it is cancelled in your Spotify account.
  • A free subscription provided by an organisation does not need cancelling — Headspace says it expires automatically based on the agreement date.

Before you cancel

  • Establish who charged you. If you are unsure, Headspace has a separate article on viewing your subscription details.
  • Check the refund position first — it differs by route, and most routes are stated as non-refundable.
  • A Mental Health Coaching subscription has its own cancellation article and a different procedure.

If you purchased directly from Headspace

These steps follow Headspace's own article. On-screen labels can change.

  1. Log in from a browser

Log in to your account at www.headspace.com from a desktop or mobile browser — Headspace specifies not the mobile app.

View Headspace's official cancellation article (opens an external site)

  2. Use the CANCEL MEMBERSHIP link

Go to the subscription management page and click or tap the CANCEL MEMBERSHIP link.

Open the Headspace subscription management page (opens an external site)

  3. If the button is missing, email support

Headspace states that if the button is not there, you should email help@headspace.com.

Refunds on direct purchases

Headspace states subscriptions purchased directly through Headspace.com are non-refundable, while inviting you to write to help@headspace.com if you believe there are special circumstances so the team can review your case individually.

App stores and the Spotify bundle

Apple App Store
Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select the Headspace subscription, and tap Cancel Subscription to stop it auto-renewing at the end of the billing cycle. Headspace states purchases made this way are final and non-refundable.
Google Play
Open the Google Play Store, go to Menu then Subscriptions, tap the subscription, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the onscreen instructions. Headspace states these purchases are also final and non-refundable.
Headspace + Spotify bundle
This subscription is managed by Spotify: log in to your Spotify subscription page to view it, then manage payments or cancel in the Subscription section of your account.
Free subscription from an organisation
Headspace states you do not need to cancel a free subscription provided by an organisation — it expires automatically based on the agreement date.

Headspace states app-store purchases are subject to the platform's own payment policy, which may not provide for refunds. This can vary by region and payment method.

After you cancel

  • Confirm the status changed in the place that billed you — checking only your Headspace account can leave an app-store subscription running.
  • The App Store route stops auto-renewal at the end of the current billing cycle rather than ending access immediately.
  • If the CANCEL MEMBERSHIP link never appeared, email help@headspace.com.

Frequently asked questions

Headspace states both direct and app-store purchases are non-refundable, while inviting direct purchasers with special circumstances to write to help@headspace.com for an individual review.

What about the Spotify bundle?

Headspace states it is managed by Spotify and must be cancelled in the Subscription section of your Spotify account, directing further questions to Spotify support.
